Code of Conduct

Our principles, standards, moral and ethical expectations

The following are the a list of rules outlining the norms, rules, and responsibilities or proper practices of members of Ebony City Soccer Club and Youth Development Program.

  • Parents will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for our youth, not for adults.
  • Parents (and guests) will be positive role models for children and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, referees, ECSC Club officials, and spectators at every game and practice
  • Play hard, but play within the rules of the game of soccer
  • Demonstrate self control at practice, at games, and in the community as we are representing our family and organization
  • Players, parents, and coaches will respect officials and accept their decisions without gesture or argument
  • All participants are responsible for learning the rule of the game
  • Win without boasting, lose without excuses and never quits
  • Parents will never ridicule or yell at their child, or any other player, for making a mistake or losing a competition.
  • Parents also agree that if they fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, Parents will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:
    • Verbal warning by official, head coach, and/or a disciplinary agent of ECSC
    • Written warning from the club
    • Parental game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by ECSC and the appropriate governing Association
    • Parental season suspension
  • Remember that it is a privilege to represent ECSC and our community
